Immutable Launches Web3 Gaming Community Mintory

Gaming technology company Immutable has announced the official launch of Mintory, a community focused on the Web3 game economy. The platform's first onboarded title is "Ragnarok Sharing Hero NFT." The launch marks a strategic expansion for the company into Web3 gaming infrastructure.

- The game's developer, Funigloo, previously collaborated with Gravity in 2023 to launch "Ragnarok Labyrinth NFT," giving them operational experience in blockchain gaming before partnering with Immutable. - A core mechanic of "Ragnarok Sharing Hero NFT" is its "Character Sharing System," which allows players to lend their characters to others to tackle missions or raids, earning the owner passive rewards in return. - Mintory will integrate with Immutable's existing "Immutable Play" platform to deliver its features, which include NFT galleries, token airdrops, and leaderboard quests to drive community engagement. - The new game features a real-time faction war between "Cosmos" and "Chaos," where players compete for a rare reward called "MINT" that is owned by an in-game AI, with the battlefield state shifting based on territory control. - Immutable was founded in 2018 by James Ferguson, Robbie Ferguson, and Alex Connolly and reached a valuation of $2.5 billion after a $200 million Series C funding round in March 2022 led by Temasek. - This initiative is part of Immutable's broader strategy to bridge traditional (Web2) gaming with Web3, which includes a partnership with major game publisher Ubisoft to utilize its infrastructure. - Mintory and its first game will utilize Immutable's full technology stack, including the Immutable Chain for assets and Immutable Passport, a wallet and identity solution with over 6 million sign-ups.
