PS5 Pro Confirmed

Sony's high-powered mid-generation console refresh, the PS5 Pro, is confirmed for launch this November [https://www.jvgelectronics.in/blog/25/know-more-about-ps5-pro]. What kind of performance boost are we expecting?

The PS5 Pro launched on November 7, 2024, for $699. It boasts a GPU approximately 45% faster than the standard PS5, alongside enhanced ray tracing and Sony's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This tech uses AI-driven upscaling for improved visuals. The PS5 Pro's GPU is expected to deliver 16.7 teraflops of performance and has 16GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM. It also includes 2GB of DDR5 RAM dedicated to system memory. The console uses the same Zen 2 architecture as the original PS5, but with a "High CPU Frequency Mode" that bumps the CPU speed by 10% to 3.85GHz. Sony revealed the PS5 Pro on September 10, 2024, following months of rumors. Some rumors suggested the GPU could reach 33.5 teraflops, more than three times the original PS5, but the final specs are lower. The PS5 Pro also includes a 2TB SSD for storing more games. The PS5 Pro is backwards compatible with PS4 games, with a "Game Boost" feature to improve performance. Games with unlocked frame rates may lock closer to 60fps, and those using dynamic resolution scaling may maintain their target resolution more consistently. Games not targeting 4K will use PSSR to upscale to 4K.
