Yamaha Relocates HQ to Georgia

Yamaha is moving its Orange County headquarters to Georgia after nearly 50 years in California [https://x.com/i/status/2031372531869831428], citing structural reforms amid a trend of companies moving to red states.

Yamaha's move from Cypress, California, to Kennesaw, Georgia, will occur in phases, starting at the end of 2026 and concluding by the end of 2028. This involves relocating corporate and financial functions. The company aims to improve profitability and streamline operations in response to rising costs and market changes. Yamaha has already been shifting operations to Georgia, with the marine business moving in 1999 and motorsports in 2019. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has welcomed Yamaha's move, highlighting the state's business-friendly environment. Yamaha's relocation did not involve any discretionary incentives, according to a spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. As part of the relocation, Yamaha will sell its 25.1-acre California campus, which has been its home for nearly 50 years. Yamaha intends to lease back some of the California facilities temporarily to ensure a smooth transition.
