OpenAI Integrates with Udemy and Loblaw

OpenAI is expanding its enterprise presence through new partnerships. Canadian grocer Loblaw is integrating its PC Express platform into ChatGPT, while edtech firm Udemy will offer personalized training directly within the chatbot.

- The Udemy integration provides ChatGPT users access to a library of over 290,000 courses from 90,000 instructors, available to Free, Go, Plus, and Pro subscribers. - Beyond course content, the Udemy app within ChatGPT will offer interactive assessments, practical labs, and competency checks to provide a more comprehensive learning experience than standard AI tutoring. - For Loblaw, the PC Express app allows ChatGPT users to create meal plans and shopping lists based on product availability at their local store by providing a postal code. - In addition to the customer-facing app, Loblaw is deploying ChatGPT Enterprise to its corporate employees to improve productivity and innovation, expanding on its existing internal AI tools like "Robin," an AI assistant for store managers. - These partnerships are part of a broader OpenAI enterprise strategy that includes collaborations with companies like Disney, Mattel, and Shopify to embed its technology into various business operations. - The Loblaw app is one of several third-party applications integrated into ChatGPT, joining others such as Spotify, Canva, and Expedia. - Udemy's CEO, Hugo Sarrazin, stated the goal is to make skills development more personalized and accessible, addressing demand for just-in-time learning that fits into busy professional schedules. - Loblaw's Chief Digital Officer, Lauren Steinberg, noted the company began working on the integration as soon as OpenAI announced it would allow third-party apps in its chatbot in the fall of 2025.
