Liza Minnelli's memoir, *Kids, Wait Till You Hear This!*, officially released on March 10, 2026, promises a candid look into her life. The book covers her rise to fame, struggles with substance use disorder, multiple rehab attempts, chronic anxiety, hospitalizations, and personal heartbreaks. It's the result of over a decade of interviews with her close friend Michael Feinstein. Minnelli shares her perspective on growing up as the daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli, stepping out of their shadows, and her battles with addiction. She recounts breaking free from her dysfunctional family at 16 to make it as a singer and actor in New York. Minnelli acknowledges being "the original nepo baby," but also reveals the pain that came with it. The memoir also addresses a tense encounter with Lady Gaga at the 2022 Oscars, where Minnelli was told at the last minute she would have to sit in a wheelchair. She also shares stories about stars in her orbit, like Frank Sinatra. Minnelli says she was motivated to write the book to set the record straight after feeling misrepresented in films and miniseries. Signed copies and special events are available to celebrate the release. Barnes & Noble is offering limited quantities of signed copies, and Minnelli participated in a live conversation at LA's Million Dollar Theater. A special 80th birthday celebration concert at Carnegie Hall on June 25, 2026, will also include a signed copy of the memoir.
