The creators of Sweden's famous Treehotel unveiled Villa Äng near the Arctic Circle, a private retreat house featuring a sauna and ice hole for cold plunges. The villa blends modern comfort with wild immersion in Swedish Lapland, offering luxury adventure experiences in extreme northern conditions.
- Villa Äng is a new, all-inclusive private villa from the creators of the Treehotel, Kent Lindvall and Britta Jonsson Lindvall, with the project being led by their daughter, Jenny Isaksson. - Scheduled to open in December 2025, the 400-square-meter villa is designed for exclusive use by a single party of up to 10 guests, featuring five en-suite bedrooms. - The name "Äng" is Swedish for "meadow," reflecting the villa's location on a meadow that slopes down to the Lule River. - Each room in the villa is inspired by the native plants documented by renowned Swedish scientist Carl Linnaeus during his Lapland expedition. - The all-inclusive stay provides a dedicated private chef and a personal concierge to tailor Arctic experiences like dog sledding and searching for the northern lights. - The design concept was created by Jenny Isaksson in collaboration with the branding and design agency Stylt, with an interior that mixes antique objects from Arctic Sweden with contemporary design. - This project joins a micro-destination of luxury accommodations in and around the village of Harads, which includes the original Treehotel and the floating Arctic Bath hotel and spa. - The investment for Villa Äng is approximately 20 million Swedish kronor, with a projected occupancy rate of 30-40% in its first year.
