Xiaomi Unveils 1,900 HP Electric Hypercar

Xiaomi just revealed full specs for its Vision GT electric hypercar concept — a monster 1,900 hp beast that debuted at MWC 2026. The company also showcased a high-speed demo video at the event, positioning itself at the forefront of electric performance innovation. This puts Xiaomi in direct competition with traditional hypercar manufacturers.

The Vision GT is a concept created for the Gran Turismo video game series, making Xiaomi the first technology company to be invited into the prestigious design program in its 28-year history. The invitation was extended personally by the game's producer, Kazunori Yamauchi, signaling the car's primary existence in the digital world rather than on public roads. Engineered around a "Sculpted by the Wind" principle, the hypercar features unique aerodynamics. An "Active Wake Control System" uses micro-perforations to manage airflow at the rear, replacing a conventional spoiler. Its "Accretion Rims" are a standout detail: magnetic, non-rotating wheel covers that sit stationary as the wheels spin to reduce drag, while internal fins pull air to cool the brakes. The concept is built on a 900V silicon carbide platform, a high-performance architecture that underpins its immense power. While the Vision GT is a design exercise, its stablemate, the production model SU7 Ultra, features a triple-motor system delivering over 1,500 horsepower, capable of 0-100 km/h in 1.98 seconds. This foray into hypercar design follows the massive success of Xiaomi's first vehicle, the SU7 sedan. Launched in March 2024, the company delivered over 381,000 units by early February 2026, establishing itself as a high-volume player in China's competitive EV market. The company is targeting total sales of 550,000 vehicles for 2026. The Vision GT's 1,900 hp figure puts it in direct competition with elite electric hypercars like the Pininfarina Battista (1,900 hp) and the Rimac Nevera (1,914 hp). These vehicles are known for record-breaking acceleration, with the Nevera hitting 0-60 mph in just 1.74 seconds. Unveiling the concept at MWC in Barcelona was a strategic move. Xiaomi has confirmed it is targeting 2027 for its first year of overseas expansion into the European market, and the Vision GT serves to build brand credibility and showcase its engineering ambitions ahead of the arrival of its production cars.
