Alter Bridge Drops 'Playing Aces' Video

Modern hard rock titans Alter Bridge released a video for their new single "Playing Aces" from their upcoming eighth studio album. The self-titled release continues their evolution as one of contemporary rock's most reliable acts, showcasing their signature blend of melodic hooks and powerful riffs. The album is highly anticipated by their dedicated fanbase.

The upcoming self-titled album, set for a January 9, 2026 release, sees the band reuniting with their longtime producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette. Recording sessions took place over two months at Baskette's Florida studio and the legendary 5150 studio in California, originally built by Eddie Van Halen. The "Playing Aces" music video was directed by J.T. Ibanez. Vocalist Myles Kennedy says the song's title refers to a gambling analogy, representing a last-ditch effort to succeed by risking everything, regardless of past failures. "Alter Bridge" is the band's first studio album since 2022's "Pawns & Kings". The new 12-track record will feature vocal trade-offs between Kennedy and guitarist Mark Tremonti on the songs "Trust In Me" and "Tested And Able." The album's final track, "Slave To Master," is the longest song the band has recorded to date. The band—composed of Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips—formed in Orlando, Florida, in 2004. Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips were founding members of Creed and started Alter Bridge after that band's initial dissolution, recruiting Kennedy as their new frontman. To support the album's release, the band will embark on a 31-date European tour in early 2026, called the "What Lies Within Tour." They will be joined by supporting acts Daughtry and Sevendust for the run, which kicks off on January 15 in Hamburg, Germany.
