Cognizant, Google Cloud Expand AI Partnership
Cognizant announced an expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud to help enterprises operationalize agentic AI at scale. The collaboration aims to translate AI strategies into deployed, governed systems for large businesses. Cognizant will leverage its AI builder approach and proprietary capabilities built on Google Cloud's platform.
- The partnership includes a significant commitment from Cognizant to invest $1 billion in generative AI over three years. - As part of the collaboration, Cognizant is training more than 70,000 of its associates on Google Cloud's AI technologies to enhance software development, testing, and deployment for clients. - A key focus of the expanded partnership is the adoption of Google's Gemini models; Cognizant is integrating Gemini into its internal platforms and will also develop client solutions using the advanced AI. - To support the initiative, Cognizant is establishing dedicated Gemini Centers of Excellence and Gemini Studios within its Cloud AI Innovation hubs in locations including London, Bangalore, Plano, Texas, Mexico, and Romania. - This agreement builds on previous collaborations, including a partnership focused on creating large language model solutions for the healthcare industry in August 2023. - Before offering solutions to clients, Cognizant is first deploying Google Workspace and Gemini Enterprise internally to enhance its own productivity and employee experience. - The collaboration aims to create tangible offerings, such as an "Autonomous Customer Engagement" solution for AI-led contact centers and tools for AI-driven workflows in areas like supplier communications. - This move is part of Cognizant's broader strategy to be an "AI builder," which was recently strengthened by its acquisition of 3Cloud, a major Microsoft Azure services provider, to expand its enterprise AI capabilities.
