Superteam Wheels Inks Deal to Expand in Europe
Chinese carbon fiber bicycle wheel maker Superteam Wheels has entered a three-year strategic partnership with GCN Italia, the Italian arm of the Global Cycling Network. The deal is expected to significantly boost the company's brand presence and market reach across Europe.
Founded in 2015, Superteam Wheels' parent company, Xiamen Baiyexing Outdoor Products Co., Ltd., has a history of serving as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for other international first-line brands, accumulating extensive experience in carbon fiber product production. This manufacturing background allowed the Superteam brand to launch with a focus on providing cost-effective carbon fiber wheelsets directly to consumers. The partnership with GCN Italia is the latest step in a broader European expansion strategy for Superteam. This move follows successful collaborations established in 2025 with the French and Spanish channels of the Global Cycling Network, indicating a systematic approach to solidifying the brand's presence in key Southern European markets. The collaboration will involve co-created original content, including professional product reviews of road and gravel bike wheelsets, real-world riding experiences in Italy, and detailed analyses of carbon fiber technology. This content will be promoted across all of GCN Italia's social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. GCN Italia offers a highly targeted audience for the brand, with 97% of its viewers based in Italy. Superteam's Overseas Business Manager, Chris Zeng, has called Italy "the heart of global cycling, with profound heritage and discerning enthusiasts," identifying GCN Italia as the key bridge to connect the company's Chinese carbon fiber expertise with local riders. Among cycling enthusiasts, Superteam wheels have developed a reputation for offering a strong performance-to-price ratio, often seen as a significant upgrade from stock aluminum wheels. While positive reviews frequently mention value and ride quality, some consumer feedback has pointed to inconsistencies in quality control and customer support as potential drawbacks.
