Cognizant and Google Cloud Deepen AI Partnership
Cognizant announced an expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud to help enterprises operationalize agentic AI at scale. The collaboration aims to translate corporate AI strategies into deployed and governed systems using Cognizant's AI builder approach and proprietary tools built on Google Cloud's platform.
- This expanded partnership builds on a collaboration that began in May 2023 and was previously extended in August 2023 to create large language model solutions for the healthcare industry. - As part of the agreement, Cognizant is investing in and deploying Google Workspace with Gemini Enterprise for its own internal use to improve productivity and employee experience. - Cognizant is establishing a dedicated Gemini Enterprise Center of Excellence and will leverage its own proprietary tools, such as Cognizant Agent Foundry and Cognizant Ignition, to build and deploy AI agents for clients. - The collaboration includes a significant training initiative, with Cognizant committing to train over 70,000 of its associates on Google Cloud's AI technologies, including the Gemini models. - To facilitate innovation, Cognizant is setting up Gemini Studios within its Cloud AI Innovation hubs in Bangalore, London, and Plano, Texas, for enterprise clients to conceptualize and build AI solutions. - The partnership specifically utilizes Google's Vertex AI platform for building, and fine-tuning AI models, with one project demonstrating a reduction in assessment preparation time from six hours to just one. - This move is part of Cognizant's broader strategy to position itself as an "AI builder," which was recently strengthened by its acquisition of 3Cloud, a major Microsoft Azure services provider, on January 1, 2026. - Cognizant has already developed over 200 AI agents for various business processes, which are available through its Agent Foundry platform.
