Paris Baguette Expands with New Texas Cafe
Global bakery café chain Paris Baguette is continuing its U.S. expansion, opening its newest location in Richardson, Texas, on February 27. The brand, which has over 4,000 locations worldwide, has been rapidly growing its footprint in the American bakery café market.
The new Richardson café is the 25th Texas location for the South Korean chain, which is owned by the global food and confectionery conglomerate SPC Group. The Richardson location is owned and operated by franchisees Sweta Goyal, Puneet Mittal, Mamta Singhal, and Rajneesh Singhal, two couples who have a five-unit development agreement with the company. This opening is part of an aggressive North American expansion strategy, with Paris Baguette aiming to reach 1,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada by 2030. In 2025 alone, the company opened 77 new cafés and signed nearly 300 development agreements. The brand's U.S. sales grew over 30% to nearly $500 million in the first quarter of 2025, marking 17 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales. To support this rapid growth, parent company SPC Group is investing $160 million to build a 260,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Burleson, Texas. The plant, slated to begin production in 2027, is expected to create 450 jobs and will be the company's first production site in North America. The U.S. bakery café market was valued at $17.6 billion in 2024 and has seen steady growth. The market is characterized by rising consumer demand for fresh, artisanal, and health-conscious options, including gluten-free and organic products. Paris Baguette's expansion comes as the overall U.S. specialty bakery market is projected to grow from over $6.2 billion in 2024 to more than $9 billion by 2032.
