Report: AI Adoption in Staffing Boosts Revenue
A survey of nearly 2,300 recruitment professionals found a strong correlation between AI adoption and business success, according to a new report from Bullhorn. Staffing firms that utilize AI are reporting stronger revenue growth and faster candidate placements compared to their peers.
- Top-performing staffing firms are four times more likely to utilize AI in their operations. Among the firms that saw revenue growth of over 25 percent, 78 percent are using AI tools that are embedded in their applicant tracking systems. - The adoption of AI for screening candidates has led to significant improvements in key performance indicators for 55 percent of firms, with 46 percent reporting that AI has reduced screening time by at least half. - For the highest-growth firms, the use of AI has resulted in notably faster placements, with 56 percent reporting average placement times of less than 10 days. - Despite the clear advantages, broad adoption of the most advanced AI, known as agentic AI, across the entire workflow remains limited, with only 10 percent of firms having fully implemented it. - Barriers to wider AI implementation include concerns about data readiness, security, and the lack of a clear strategy for adoption. - Leadership plays a critical role in successful AI integration, as leaders who feel prepared to guide AI adoption were nearly 40 percent more likely to have seen revenue growth in 2025. - From the candidate's perspective, AI is generally viewed positively, with 77 percent reporting a positive experience with AI in the recruitment process. - The impact of AI on recruiter efficiency is substantial, with the potential to save recruiters up to 17 hours per week, freeing them up from administrative tasks to focus on building relationships.
