Monstrosity Drops New Death Metal Track
U.S. death metal veterans Monstrosity released "The Atrophied" and announced their album "Screams From Beneath The Surface" drops next month. The band is preparing for a European headlining tour to support the release, giving international fans access to their latest material live.
- The upcoming album, "Screams From Beneath The Surface," is the band's first full-length release in seven years, following "The Passage of Existence" (2018). It is set for a March 13, 2026 release via Metal Blade Records. - Monstrosity was founded in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1990, with drummer Lee Harrison being the only constant member throughout the band's history. - The band's original vocalist was George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, who performed on their first two albums, "Imperial Doom" (1992) and "Millennium" (1996), before he left to join Cannibal Corpse. - The current lineup features Harrison alongside longtime guitarist Matt Barnes, vocalist Ed Webb (formerly of Massacre), and the return of original bassist Mark Van Erp. - Recording for the new album was split between two legendary Florida studios; drums and bass were recorded at Audiohammer Studios with Jason Suecof, while vocals and guitars were done at Morrisound Studios with producer Jim Morris. - The "Screams Across Europe Tour 2026" will feature support from special guests Bio-Cancer, Reject The Sickness, and Deadwood. - According to drummer Lee Harrison, the new single "The Atrophied" was the first track written for the album and contains all the hallmarks of a classic Monstrosity song. - The album's cover artwork was created by artist Timbul Cahyono and is a non-AI, organic creation.
