Rochester Public Transit’s spring service changes take effect Sunday, April 26, with route mergers, weekend schedule cuts and stop shifts across the city. (rochestermn.gov) The biggest map changes are on Routes 101, 206, 409 and 418. Routes 101 and 206 will merge into a new two-way Route 120, and Routes 409 and 418 will merge into a new two-way Route 410. (rochestermn.gov) Routes 102, 116, 203, 306, 307 and 413 will be realigned, and Route 505 will be discontinued. The city said stops now served by Route 505 will still be covered by other existing routes. (rochestermn.gov) Weekend service on Routes 21 through 26 will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. under the new schedules. The city also posted minor timetable adjustments across all routes. (rochestermn.gov) Two-way service means buses travel out and back instead of looping in one direction. Rochester Public Transit said riders on those routes will board on the opposite side of the street, and some stops may move by up to a block. (rochestermn.gov) Rochester Public Transit first floated the changes on January 30, saying it wanted to match service to current ridership patterns and improve reliability. The April 6 announcement said the final plan shifts service toward corridors with higher demand and removes some lower-productivity segments. (rochestermn.gov, rochestermn.gov) Rachel Fautsch, Rochester’s transit and parking director, said the changes are aimed at making the system “more reliable, efficient and responsive to community needs.” Updated timetables are posted now, and printed schedule books are being distributed on buses, at Central Park, the library, the transit office and through Mayo Clinic Office Parking and Transportation. (rochestermn.gov, rochestermn.gov) The city’s routes-and-schedules page now lists the spring 2026 bus schedules as effective April 26, 2026. Riders can also use Rochester Public Transit’s real-time tools, including the Transit app and bus tracker, to check the new service before Sunday trips. (rochestermn.gov, rochestermn.gov)
