Chicken Fried Rice Recall Expanded
The USDA expanded its recall affecting Ajinomoto frozen chicken fried rice and other chicken meals, now including over 37 million pounds due to possible glass contamination [https://foodsafetynews.com/2026/03/recall-of-37-million-pounds-of-chicken-fried-rice-and-other-frozen-chicken-meals-amended].
The recall includes various frozen chicken products produced between October 2025 and January 2026 and sold under different brand names. Consumers are urged to check their freezers for the recalled products and discard them or return them to the place of purchase. The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is concerned that some consumers may still have these products in their freezers. The potential glass contamination makes these products hazardous to consume. The initial recall was smaller but expanded after more reports of glass or hard plastic materials found in the chicken products. Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc. is cooperating with the FSIS to ensure the recalled products are removed from the marketplace.
