Mattison, a fourth-round pick in 2021, had a 2.70 ERA with six strikeouts in 3.1 innings during spring training this year. Last season, he pitched across Single-A, High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A, posting a 4.38 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 39 innings. He missed the entire 2024 season due to Tommy John surgery. Waites posted a 4.50 ERA in five spring training games. Sammons appeared in three games this spring, including one start. All three are expected to start the season with Triple-A Toledo. These moves bring the Tigers' MLB camp roster down to 45 players as they aim to reach the 26-player limit for Opening Day. Kevin McGonigle, a key prospect, remains in the major league camp after the sixth round of cuts.
