Santa Monica College is set to host a hybrid business panel on April 23, followed by an in-person networking session for students seeking transfer and career contacts. (smc.edu) The panel runs from 11:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. in Orientation Hall, room SSC 183, and online at the same time. The networking session follows from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the third-floor lounge of the Student Services Center. (smc.edu) Santa Monica College says the event is aimed at business students who want information on university business programs and the transfer process. The college says students can also use the networking portion to ask questions, meet other business students, and connect with campus resources. (smc.edu) The event sits inside the college’s Transfer Center workshop program, which includes sessions on California State University applications, University of California transfers, private colleges, and business-focused panels. The workshop listing shows a “Business School Panel” among its Fall 2025 and ongoing transfer programming. (smc.edu) Santa Monica College promotes itself as the top transfer college to the University of California, the University of Southern California, and Loyola Marymount University for 35 years, and says it offers more than 200 degrees and certificates. The school also says it has led California community colleges in transfers for 30 years. (smc.edu, smc.edu) The universities tied to the event are major destinations for Southern California transfer students. Santa Monica College’s transfer resource page says California State University, Northridge enrolled more than 36,000 students in fall 2023, while California State University, Long Beach describes itself as a large urban campus in the 23-campus California State University system. (smc.edu, csulb.edu) Santa Monica College’s Career Services Center says enrolled students taking at least three units can use career counseling, internship support, and employer resources. Its events calendar also lists LinkedIn and networking workshops later this month and in May. (smc.edu, smc.edu) For students, the setup is split in two: the information session can be joined online or in person, but the networking block is only on campus. Santa Monica College says food and refreshments will be offered during the afternoon session while supplies last. (smc.edu)
