Westbrook Breaks Triple-Double Record Again

Russell Westbrook recorded his NBA-record 208th triple-double with 23 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds in Sacramento's 126-110 win over Chicago. The performance extends Westbrook's own record and reinforces his status as one of the most dynamic playmakers in league history. At this stage of his career, Westbrook continues to showcase remarkable productivity.

Westbrook first broke the all-time triple-double record on May 10, 2021, recording his 182nd in a game against the Atlanta Hawks. This surpassed the long-standing mark of 181 set by Oscar Robertson, a record that had remained untouched for 47 years. The player Westbrook surpassed, Oscar "The Big O" Robertson, was the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double for an entire season. He set the original record in 1974, and it was widely considered to be one of basketball's unbreakable milestones. Among active players, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is the closest to Westbrook's mark. Jokic recently surpassed Oscar Robertson for second place on the all-time list and currently has 187 career triple-doubles. Following Jokic, the next active player on the list is LeBron James, who is third among active players but further down the all-time list. This most recent triple-double was Westbrook's fourth of the 2025-26 season with the Sacramento Kings. He joined the team on a veteran-minimum contract to provide leadership and production for the second unit. The record-extending performance came during a challenging season for the Kings. The win against the Bulls was a rare bright spot for a team that has struggled throughout the year and holds one of the worst records in the league.
