Olivia Dean Sweeps Brit Awards
Olivia Dean swept all four categories she was nominated for at the 2026 Brit Awards, confirming her status as the UK's "new queen of pop." The ceremony marked a historic moment as it left London for the first time in decades, taking place in Manchester. Dean's wins included Album of the Year and Best Female Solo Artist.
Dean's sophomore album, "The Art of Loving," took home the coveted Album of the Year award. This win capped a triumphant night where she also secured Artist of the Year, Pop Act, and Song of the Year. Her Song of the Year victory was for the collaborative track “Rein Me In” with Sam Fender. Dean was actually a double nominee in this category, with her solo track "Man I Need" also getting a nod. The 26-year-old artist is a graduate of the prestigious BRIT School, which counts Adele and Amy Winehouse among its alumni. Before her solo success, she began her career as a backing singer for the band Rudimental. This year's ceremony was the 46th edition of the Brit Awards and the first time the event has been held outside of London since its inception in 1977. The show was hosted for the sixth time by comedian Jack Whitehall at Manchester's Co-op Live arena. Other major winners of the night included Wolf Alice for Group of the Year and Lola Young, who took home the British Breakthrough Artist award. On the international front, Rosalía was named International Artist of the Year, while Rosé and Bruno Mars won International Song of the Year for "APT." A significant moment in the evening was PinkPantheress winning Producer of the Year, making her the first woman to ever receive the award. The late Ozzy Osbourne was also honored with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award.
