Xiaomi Reveals Full '17 Series' Smartphone Lineup
Xiaomi has officially revealed its full #Xiaomi17Series smartphone lineup. The launch was showcased with a gallery of images, detailing the various models in the new flagship series. The reveal confirms the designs and options available in the company's latest high-end device family.
In a strategic move to directly challenge Apple, Xiaomi has skipped the "16" moniker and jumped straight to the Xiaomi 17 series for its latest flagship lineup. This positions the new devices as direct competitors to the iPhone 17. The company's president, Lu Weibing, stated this leap reflects five years of high-end development and a significant research and development investment of nearly $14 billion USD. The entire Xiaomi 17 series is among the first to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3nm process. This new chip features powerful cores with speeds of up to 4.6GHz, promising a significant performance upgrade over the previous generation. The phones will run on HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16. The lineup includes multiple models, with the standard Xiaomi 17 and the photography-focused Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The standard model features a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The Ultra model boasts a larger 6.9-inch HyperRGB OLED display and is positioned as the thinnest and lightest "Ultra" model from Xiaomi to date, weighing 219 grams and measuring 8.29mm in thickness. Leica's partnership continues with co-developed camera systems for the 17 series. The standard Xiaomi 17 is equipped with a triple 50MP rear camera setup, including a main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lens. The 17 Ultra features a more advanced system that includes a 50MP 1-inch main sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. Battery technology sees a notable advancement with the introduction of the Xiaomi Surge Battery, which utilizes a higher silicon content for increased energy density. The standard Xiaomi 17 comes with a 6330mAh battery, while the Chinese market version packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Both support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
