Álvarez's team has confirmed that a rematch with Bivol is a real possibility. The first fight in May 2022 saw Bivol defeat Canelo by unanimous decision, retaining his WBA light heavyweight title. Canelo has previously stated he wanted the rematch to occur at 175 pounds, Bivol's weight class. Another potential opponent has emerged: John Ryder, who Canelo defeated in May 2023.
