LGMG Unveils New Construction Equipment

At the recent CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show, construction equipment manufacturer LGMG introduced three new models across its aerial work platform, telehandler, and earthmoving divisions. The company also rolled out a new service initiative, LGMG ProCare, as part of its global expansion.

The new 125-foot telescopic boom lift, the T38J-H, features a dual-capacity platform of 661 pounds unrestricted and 992 pounds restricted, with a maximum working height of 131 feet and a horizontal outreach of over 73 feet. An electric, lithium-ion battery-powered version, the T38JE, is also available, reflecting a broader industry trend toward the electrification of construction equipment. LGMG's new H1256 telehandler is equipped with a 120-horsepower Cummins engine and boasts a 12,000-pound lift capacity, a maximum lift height of 56 feet 1 inch, and 42 feet of forward reach. This model was specifically developed for the North American market, featuring a wider chassis for stability and a cab design focused on operator comfort and ease of maintenance. The X7 series of electric counterbalanced forklifts is designed for high performance in warehouse and industrial settings. These forklifts feature a wheel-side dual-drive system that allows them to climb a 20% grade at full load and reach a top speed of 20 km/h. The use of top-tier international brands for core components and a self-developed intelligent control system ensures reliability and real-time monitoring of the vehicle's status. The LGMG ProCare service initiative is a key component of the company's global strategy, aiming to set new standards for after-sales support. The program has established ambitious targets, including over 90% parts delivery within 48 hours and a more than 90% fault resolution rate within the same timeframe in key markets. ProCare offers comprehensive lifecycle support, from operator training and preventive maintenance to field diagnostics and remanufacturing services. These new products and services are part of LGMG's focused expansion into the North American market, a move that includes a significant investment in localized research and development. A cornerstone of this strategy is the new LGMG manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The $140 million facility in Mexico will initially produce scissor and boom lifts, with plans to manufacture the company's full range of equipment within three to five years. This plant is expected to create approximately 7,000 jobs and will allow LGMG to be closer to its North American customer base, streamlining the supply chain. The move is also a response to high import tariffs on equipment entering the U.S. market. LGMG is one of several major equipment manufacturers that have recently established or expanded production facilities in Mexico, signaling a strategic shift in the industry to nearshore manufacturing for the North American market. The company has stated that this approach allows for better integration into local markets and the ability to tailor products to regional demands.
