Paris Baguette Opens New Richardson, TX Location
The global bakery café chain Paris Baguette has opened its newest location in Richardson, Texas, as of February 27. The opening is part of the brand's rapid U.S. expansion, which leverages its more than 4,000 worldwide units.
The new Richardson location is part of an ambitious goal to operate 1,000 bakery cafes in North America by 2030, a significant increase from the 260 locations open as of early 2026. The company's growth has been substantial, with 77 new cafes opened in 2025 alone and a plan to open 150 more in 2026. This rapid expansion is largely fueled by a franchising model that has seen the company award nearly 300 development agreements in 2025. Texas is a focal point of this North American expansion. To support its growing number of cafes, Paris Baguette is constructing its first-ever North American manufacturing plant in Burleson, Texas. This more than $200 million, 267,000-square-foot facility is expected to create around 450 jobs and will supply fresh dough and other products to all of its cafes across the continent. The plant is scheduled to begin production in 2027. The South Korean-based chain, owned by the SPC Group, has seen 19 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales growth. This success is attributed to a brand revamp before 2020 that refreshed its cafes and expanded its offerings. In 2026, Entrepreneur's Franchise 500® ranked Paris Baguette at No. 29 overall and No. 1 in the Bakery Cafe category. The company's strategy involves targeting high-traffic "lifestyle" hubs and focusing on an experiential store model. This includes features like visible cake decorating rooms to create an engaging atmosphere for customers. While expanding, the brand aims to reestablish the "neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community."
