The Diputación de Sevilla and Miami International Airport (MIA) met in January 2026 at FITUR to discuss establishing a direct flight between Seville and Miami. A trade mission from the Diputación to Miami in 2025 highlighted the importance of a direct connection. Emir Pineda, MIA's Director of Development, indicated they are exploring all options with airlines, especially American carriers, to establish the direct route. They are also working to determine the ideal aircraft for interested airlines. The United States is the primary foreign market for overnight stays in the province of Seville, accounting for 12.76% of the total. France is second with 12.35%, followed by Italy with 10.54%.
