Anthropic valuation chatter

- Multiple reports claim Anthropic's investor valuation has ballooned, with one outlet citing roughly $800 billion. - Some pieces reference a reported $30 billion revenue run‑rate and secondary‑market pricing over $1 trillion. - The headlines sit against ongoing debates about realistic pricing and how vendors should monetise the 'harness' around models. Anthropic is fielding investor offers that would value the company at about $800 billion, according to reports published April 14 and April 18. (reuters.com) The reported offers would be more than double Anthropic’s last disclosed valuation from February 12, when the company said it raised $30 billion in Series G funding at a $380 billion post-money valuation. Anthropic said that round was led by GIC and Coatue. (anthropic.com) Reuters said Anthropic has so far resisted the new approaches. Euronews, citing multiple reports on April 18, said the company’s private valuation had more than doubled within months as talk of an initial public offering built. (reuters.com, euronews.com) The valuation talk is riding on a reported $30 billion annualized revenue run rate. The Next Web and other outlets said that figure was reached in April 2026, up from roughly $9 billion at the end of 2025. (thenextweb.com) Anthropic sells Claude, a family of large language models, and pitches its business heavily at companies that want coding, reasoning, and automation tools. Its enterprise product page says customers can run Claude Code through existing Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud Vertex AI setups. (claude.com, aws.amazon.com) That setup helps explain why investors are focusing on more than the model itself. GIC said in February that Anthropic’s new funding would support infrastructure expansion and partnerships with Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia. (gic.com.sg) Private-market pricing is also running ahead of formal funding rounds. TechCrunch reported on April 3 that Anthropic was the hottest trade in private secondary markets, and PM Insights said April 6 pricing implied a 40.1% premium to the February round. (techcrunch.com, pminsights.com) Some newer venues are implying even higher numbers. A BeInCrypto report published April 14 said pricing on Jupiter, a pre-IPO prediction market, pointed to an implied valuation of about $851 billion, though that is not the same thing as a negotiated financing round. (beincrypto.com) Anthropic was founded in 2021 by former OpenAI researchers including Chief Executive Dario Amodei and President Daniela Amodei. Its February fundraising already ranked as the second-biggest private tech financing round on record, behind OpenAI’s prior raise, according to CNBC. (anthropic.com, cnbc.com) For now, the clearest number on the record is still $380 billion from February. The $800 billion figure is the price outside investors reportedly want to pay, and whether Anthropic accepts it will decide whether the chatter becomes a transaction. (anthropic.com, reuters.com)
