Tess AI Raises $5M for Agent Orchestration

AI startup Tess AI has raised $5 million to expand its enterprise agent orchestration platform. The funding signals continued investor confidence in the B2B AI sector, particularly in startups focused on building the tools to manage and deploy complex, multi-step AI agents within large organizations.

The seed funding round was led by Hi Ventures and DYDX Capital, with Honeystone Ventures also participating. Federico Antoni, a co-lead at Hi Ventures, noted that Tess AI's bottom-up adoption by employees is a key differentiator, as it avoids the fear associated with top-down AI projects that often lead to layoffs. Founded by Brazilian entrepreneurs, Tess AI is targeting the enterprise software market with a unique "seatless, pay-for-impact" operating model. This approach moves away from traditional per-user licensing fees and instead charges for the completed tasks and work performed by the autonomous AI agents. The platform functions as a multi-model orchestration engine, integrating over 250 different AI models into a cohesive framework. This allows the system to analyze a request and assign the most suitable model for each specific step of a complex task. Tess AI's "Agent Computer" can manage long-running tasks, retain context, and even operate when the user is offline. Technically, the platform is designed to handle dynamic interaction loops, expanded memory operations, and concurrent processes within a shared workspace. This enables agents to tackle multi-step workflows, from creating presentations and running research to drafting documents from a single prompt, aiming for performance up to 8 times better than single-model platforms.
