TECNO Debuts AI-Powered Phones at MWC
At MWC 2026, tech brand TECNO is set to unveil its new flagship CAMON 50 smartphone series. The launch focuses on a new suite of AI-driven imaging features and a broader ecosystem of AI-integrated products.
This MWC reveal builds on TECNO's "Practical AI" framework, a strategy introduced in 2024 to bring useful AI to emerging markets. In 2025 alone, the company processed over 500 million user requests, with more than half occurring in non-English languages. The brand's focus on artificial intelligence isn't new; the preceding CAMON 40 series, launched at MWC 2025, was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate AI Processor. That lineup already included features like an AI-powered call assistant and AI Eraser 2.0. For the CAMON 50, TECNO is pairing flagship Sony camera hardware with a dedicated AI computing architecture. This enables new features like Super-Zoom FlashSnap for capturing high-speed action without shutter lag and AI Auto Zoom for intelligently framing subjects. Beyond the new phone, TECNO is also announcing a strategic partnership with Tonino Lamborghini. The collaboration will produce a co-created product line, including a gaming mini-PC and a limited edition POVA smartphone. The CAMON 50 series is part of a larger AI ecosystem that includes TECNO's MEGABOOK laptops and AI-enhanced smart wearables. These devices are designed to work together through OneLeap, the company's upgraded cross-device interconnection solution. A core part of TECNO's AI strategy is deep localization. The company was the first to integrate the Hausa language and has improved voice recognition for African-accented English and French, even providing offline functionality for these languages.
