ISACA has launched Advanced in AI Risk, a new certification for experienced IT risk professionals working on artificial intelligence oversight inside organizations. (isaca.org) The professional association said the credential validates a candidate’s ability to evaluate AI vulnerabilities, assess business impacts and manage risk across the full AI lifecycle. ISACA said the program centers on governance, lifecycle risk management and risk program management. (isaca.org 1) (isaca.org 2) Registration and exam preparation materials are now available, and the AAIR exam consists of 90 questions covering those three practice areas. ISACA’s credential page says the launch follows an earlier beta program. (isaca.org 1) (isaca.org 2) (isaca.org 3) The certification is aimed at people who already hold established risk, audit, security or accounting credentials, rather than newcomers to the field. ISACA lists qualifications including CISA, CISM, CRISC, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Security Professional and several accounting designations. (isaca.org 1) (isaca.org 2) ISACA is positioning AAIR as a response to a shift in how companies handle AI: cross-functional teams are being asked to document models, assign accountability and prepare for audit and regulatory scrutiny. Its recent blog posts describe weak AI risk capability as a structural exposure that can delay product rollouts and raise compliance costs. (isaca.org) (isaca.org) The launch also expands ISACA’s growing line of AI-focused credentials. Its certification catalog now lists Advanced in AI Risk alongside Advanced in AI Audit and Advanced in AI Security Management. (isaca.org) (isaca.org) ISACA says AAIR is meant to turn existing risk expertise into a formal credential for AI oversight, as companies move from experimenting with AI to governing it. (isaca.org)
