Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Vegas Residency
Producer legends Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis announced a 'Nothing But Hits' Las Vegas residency starting in April. They'll perform their celebrated R&B and hip-hop discography live for the first time — an unmissable event for fans of classic hits. The residency marks their first major live performance venture.
Over their four-decade career, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have crafted a catalog of over 100 gold, platinum, or diamond-certified recordings for a diverse range of artists including Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, and Usher. They are credited with more Billboard #1 hits than any other songwriting and production team in history. The duo has amassed 16 #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and 26 #1s on the R&B charts. Their immense success has been recognized with five Grammy Awards, including the first-ever award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical in 1987 for their work on Janet Jackson's groundbreaking album "Control". They also hold a record nine ASCAP Songwriter of the Year awards. Their journey began in Minneapolis where they were part of the band Flyte Tyme, which eventually evolved into The Time, a group formed by Prince. After being fired by Prince for missing a show due to a blizzard while producing another act, they focused on their own production company, Flyte Tyme. Their signature sound, a fusion of R&B, pop, and new jack swing, would go on to define the sound of an era. The "Nothing But Hits" residency will take place at the Voltaire at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas for six nights in April. The show promises to take audiences on a journey through "the soundtrack of your life," with the duo not only performing their hits but also sharing the stories behind their creation. Confirmed special guest vocalists for the residency include Ruben Studdard and Shanice Wilson.
