Fresh March Mystery Novels Arrive

The latest crop of March mystery and thriller novels is hitting shelves. A new review praises Janice Hallett’s *The Killer Question* for its clever twists, while other anticipated releases include Henrietta McKervey’s *The Woman in the Water*.

Janice Hallett’s *The Killer Question* is presented in her signature epistolary style, telling a story of murder at a pub trivia night through quiz categories, emails, and text messages. The plot centers on a couple who run the pub and whose secret past in a police operation seemingly catches up with them. Hallett is the author of several other standalone mystery novels, including *The Appeal* and *The Twyford Code*. Henrietta McKervey's *The Woman in the Water* is a gothic thriller set in 1930s London and Cornwall that delves into a mystery from Daphne du Maurier's classic novel, *Rebecca*. The story follows Pearl Day, the companion to the dazzling and chaotic Lady Eleanor Nicholson, who becomes the key witness after Eleanor shoots her lover. McKervey is an award-winning Irish author of five novels, including *A Talented Man* and *Violet Hill*. The March 2026 mystery and thriller slate also includes the latest installment in Tana French's Cal Hooper series, titled *The Keeper*. Other notable releases include *Nothing Tastes as Good* by Luke Dumas and *Wolf Worm* by T. Kingfisher. Additional anticipated titles for the month feature Robyn Harding's *Strangers in the Villa*, *The Missing Sister* by Jocelyn Jackson, and a new novel in the Finlay Donovan series by Elle Cosimano. The month also sees releases from authors like Gin Phillips (*Ruby Falls*) and Kat Rosenfield (*How to Survive in the Woods*).
