Dave's Landmark London Show
British rap superstar Dave delivered a landmark performance at London's O2 Arena last night, playing to a sold-out crowd in his first hometown tour appearance in four years. The BBC review praised how the gig doubled as a celebration of his ten-year career, cementing his place as "not just a rapper but an all-around artist."
The O2 show is part of a massive 39-date international tour supporting his third chart-topping album, "The Boy Who Played The Harp." The tour, his first in four years, spans Europe, North America, and Australia, running from February to August 2026. Due to overwhelming demand, the London leg was extended to four nights. The tour's namesake album, released in October 2025, marked Dave's third consecutive No. 1 debut on the UK Albums Chart. This achievement made him the first British rapper in history to have three straight albums debut at the top spot. The album itself was certified Gold in under six weeks. Onstage, the production matched the scale of his success, featuring a diamond-shaped stage extending into the crowd, pyrotechnics, and a slick four-piece band. The 90-minute set opened with an appearance from electronic artist James Blake for the song "History" and included a mix of new tracks and classic fan-favourites like "Thiago Silva" and "Funky Friday." This tour builds on a history of memorable live appearances. His 2019 Glastonbury set went viral when he invited a fan onstage to perform "Thiago Silva," and his 2020 BRITs performance of "Black" made headlines for its powerful political commentary, where he called the Prime Minister "a real racist." Dave's career is decorated with major accolades. His 2019 debut album, "Psychodrama," is one of the few records to win both the prestigious Mercury Prize and the BRIT Award for Best Album. He also holds the record for the longest-running No. 1 UK rap single with "Sprinter," his 2023 collaboration with Central Cee. To coincide with the London shows, a special collection and installation was launched with fashion brand Stone Island at Dover Street Market. The exhibit features archival Stone Island pieces worn by Dave at pivotal moments in his career from 2016 to 2026, offering a rare look into his personal collection.
