Appalachian Trail: Hiking for hospice

L Sloth is hiking the Appalachian Trail to raise money for Branford Hospice after his mother’s passing, with his 81-year-old father joining for the first mile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOgNgvt_g3w.

Branford Hospice, where L Sloth is raising funds, is located in Branford, CT, and was established in 1974 as America's first hospice. It provides both inpatient and home care services. The hospice's mission is to provide compassionate care to individuals and families affected by life-limiting illnesses. The Appalachian Trail is the longest hiking-only footpath in the world, stretching over 2,197 miles from Georgia to Maine. It passes through 14 states. More than 3 million people visit the trail each year, and about 3,000 attempt to "thru-hike" it in a single year. L Sloth has a donation link for Branford Hospice on his runsignup page. He also has a Venmo account for people to support his thru-hike. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) manages and protects the trail. They also have visitor centers along the trail.
