Wraithwatch Wins $30M Federal AI Cyber Contract

AI cyber defense firm Wraithwatch has been awarded a $30 million contract to deploy its agentic platform across multiple U.S. government agencies. The company was founded by veterans from JSOC, Palantir, SpaceX, and Anduril.

- The company was founded by CEO Nik Seetharaman, President Grace Clemente, and CTO Carlos Más. Seetharaman's background includes serving as CIO at Anduril, leading cybersecurity operations at SpaceX, and as a tactical cyber warfare operator at the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). - Wraithwatch's platform creates a "digital twin" of a client's network to safely run continuous attack simulations. This allows its AI agents to discover vulnerabilities and compute potential attack paths without affecting production systems. - The company's technical approach is described as "offense-driven defense," using evolutionary algorithms where offensive and defensive AI agents compete in tournaments to continuously create more adaptive defenses. This is designed to shorten the entire threat response cycle from weeks to minutes. - Prior to this federal contract, Wraithwatch emerged from stealth in November 2023 with an $8 million seed funding round led by Founders Fund, with participation from XYZ Capital and Human Capital. - The contract will provide Wraithwatch's technology to multiple federal agencies with critical national security missions, aiming to counter the growing threat of AI-powered offensive cyberattacks. - The market for "agentic AI" in cybersecurity is experiencing rapid growth, with one market analysis projecting it to grow from $22.56 billion in 2024 to over $322 billion by 2033. This technology shifts cybersecurity from human-led reactive defense to more autonomous, proactive protection. - CEO Nik Seetharaman has stated that the goal is to create a "defensive counterpressure" to the rapid advancements in offensive AI capabilities, such as recursive self-improvement and swarming, which are being explored by frontier AI labs and DARPA.
