ORS Haircare Partners with HBCU Culture Shop
ORS™ Haircare and the HBCU Culture Shop have teamed up for a limited-edition campaign. The partnership is designed to celebrate the legacy and community of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
The limited-edition packaging for select ORS Olive Oil products features bold, pride-inspired designs that reflect the collective identity and influence of HBCUs. The collection includes items like the Olive Oil HBCU Edge Control Hair Gel and the Strengthen & Restore Replenishing Conditioner, with prices ranging from $7.99 to $9.99. This collaboration, which debuted during Black History Month, is part of a larger, long-term commitment from ORS Haircare to support HBCU-centered initiatives. Future plans include a planned HBCU Tour and student-focused programming aimed at providing students with self-care knowledge. Each purchase from the collection helps to support HBCUs, investing in their future while honoring their past. ORS Haircare, formerly known as Organic Root Stimulator, was founded in 1996 to cater to health-conscious, multi-cultural consumers with natural ingredients. The brand is a leader in the ethnic hair care market, offering products for both relaxed and natural hair. HBCU Culture Shop was co-founded by Dainelle Riley, a Florida A&M University graduate, out of frustration with the lack of available apparel for her alma mater. The Black woman-owned brand, established in 2017, aims to redefine HBCU pride through original, culture-driven designs and gives back a portion of each sale to the institutions. The partnership is a "full-circle moment" for HBCU Culture Shop founder Dainelle Riley, who says her HBCU experience taught her that hair is an extension of identity and cultural expression. The collaboration is designed to celebrate that authentic connection. This initiative is part of a larger trend of corporations partnering with the 101 HBCUs in the United States to support Black talent and communities. These partnerships are seen as a way for companies to turn diversity and inclusion commitments into tangible action.
