Google Vids simplifies workplace video

Google is pitching Google Vids as a workplace tool that can turn a prompt and a company document into a draft video inside Google Workspace. Google also says Vids includes a recording studio, templates and a read-along teleprompter. The product page says teams can use it for employee training, company announcements, customer support and project updates. Instead of booking a studio or editing from scratch, a team can start with a sales deck, training memo or project brief and let the software assemble a storyboard around it. In April 2025, at Google Cloud Next, the company said it was bringing new Google Workspace artificial intelligence tools across Docs, Sheets, Chat and other apps; by May 2025 it said new Gemini updates were coming directly into Gmail, Meet, Vids and Docs. Most Gemini features in Google Vids, including “Help me create,” artificial intelligence voiceover and the teleprompter, are only available in English, even though viewing and editing are available more broadly.
