This direct purchasing and product development agreement connects one of the world's largest food companies with a leading knife manufacturer. JBS USA has the capacity to process 28,000 cattle and 92,000 hogs per day across its U.S. facilities, making knife performance a critical factor in yield optimization. The partnership will focus on creating tools tailored for modern food processing, leveraging Victorinox's expertise. Recently, Victorinox launched commercial knives with laser-engraved DataMatrix-Codes to enhance traceability, hygiene, and inventory management in demanding environments like meat processing plants. This technology allows each knife to be linked to specific employees, workstations, or shifts, creating detailed logs for sanitation and sharpening schedules. For a company of JBS's scale, this level of tracking can significantly improve efficiency and help meet stringent regulatory standards. The collaboration aims to maximize the lifetime value of every knife, supported by Victorinox's 90,000-square-foot distribution center in Connecticut to ensure rapid and responsive service to individual JBS plants.
