Meta ramps AI capex and research

Meta has guided roughly $48 billion in AI infrastructure capital expenditure for 2025–26 and is exploring structural research ideas that rethink computation, memory and I/O as a unified runtime. Researchers at Meta AI and KAUST published a paper proposing 'Neural Computers' to unify compute, memory and I/O, and the Financial Times reports Meta is also building an internal AI likeness of Mark Zuckerberg for staff interaction.
