Skagit Valley centennial mural

Skagit Valley College invited students and the public to help create a centennial mural, framing the project as a community collaboration to celebrate the institution’s 100th anniversary. It’s an open call for participatory public art on campus. (goskagit.com)

Participants will paint individual puzzle-shaped panels that will be joined to form a single large-scale Centennial mural on campus. (skagit.edu) Drop-in mural workshops are scheduled April 7 at the Knutzen Cardinal Center, Mount Vernon Campus, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; April 8 at Oak Hall Coffee Shop, Whidbey Island Campus, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.; and April 9 at the Knutzen Cardinal Center, 11 a.m.–6 p.m. (skagit.edu) SVC says all art materials will be provided, participants of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and no RSVP is required to join the painting sessions.
