Wolfgang Van Halen's Album Plans

Wolfgang Van Halen's creative well is far from dry, with Mammoth WVH's first three albums being released in relatively quick succession: *Mammoth WVH* in June 2021, *Mammoth II* in August 2023, and *The End* in October 2025. This consistent output is fueled by his ongoing songwriting, even while on the road. The debut album, *Mammoth WVH*, was a project years in the making, with some of the work dating back to 2013. The album, which features 14 songs, was finally completed in 2018 but its release was delayed. In contrast, the 10-track follow-up, *Mammoth II*, came together much more quickly, with Van Halen establishing a more defined sound for the project. The third album, *The End*, also contains 10 tracks. In the studio, Wolfgang Van Halen is a one-man band, writing every song and playing every instrument, including all vocals, on all three albums. He has described this process as a fun challenge and his own creative escape, working alongside his producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette. His touring band consists of guitarists Frank Sidoris and Jon Jourdan, bassist Ronnie Ficarro, and drummer Garrett Whitlock. Lyrically, Van Halen draws from personal experiences, aiming to write in a way that allows listeners to find their own meaning in the songs. He considers songwriting the most crucial part of his creative process, more so than showcasing technical skill with guitar solos. He has also stated that the vocals are often the most challenging aspect of recording. Mammoth WVH has a history of robust touring, which is expected to continue. The band has announced North American tour dates for early 2026 in support of their third album, *The End*. This heavy touring schedule for 2026 means that dedicated songwriting for the fourth album may be on hold for the time being.
