Arkansas Destroys Texas 105-85

No. 20 Arkansas ran Texas off the court 105-85, led by freshman Darius Acuff Jr. and forward Trevon Brazile. The blowout win clinched Arkansas a double bye in the SEC Tournament.

Darius Acuff Jr. made Arkansas history, becoming the first player in program history to record at least 25 points and 10 assists in a single game. The freshman phenom finished the night with 28 points and 13 assists, having already logged 19 points and 8 assists by halftime. In his final home game at Bud Walton Arena, senior forward Trevon Brazile matched Acuff Jr. with a career-high 28 points. He was remarkably efficient, shooting 9 of 11 from the field while also contributing seven rebounds, three blocks, and two steals. The game was never in doubt as Arkansas jumped out to a 19-4 lead with a 19-2 run in the first half, holding Texas without a field goal for over four minutes. The Razorbacks took a commanding 56-34 lead into halftime and extended it to as many as 28 points in the second half. The 105 points allowed were a season-high for Texas, who struggled to contain Arkansas's offense all night. The Razorbacks shot 58% from the field and 58% from three-point range, dominating in fast-break points 38-15. This victory continues Arkansas's recent success against their old Southwest Conference rival. The Razorbacks now lead the all-time series 89-68, a rivalry that dates back to Arkansas's first season of basketball in 1923-24. By securing a top-four finish in the conference, Arkansas will bypass the first two rounds of the SEC Tournament in Nashville. This gives the team significant rest as they won't have to play until the quarterfinal round.
