Michelin’s 2026 shake-up
The 2026 Michelin Guide just landed major moves — Michaël Arnoult’s Les Morainières earned the sole new three‑star nod, while France’s Four Seasons Hotel George V now holds six Michelin stars across three restaurants Le Monde Four Seasons. Paris also saw Le Clarence score two stars under new exec Andrea Capasso, and Monaco hosted the Guide ceremony for the first time — Robuchon Monaco picked up a star and Marco Tognon received a special Service Award Le Figaro Manila Times Monaco Life.
The MICHELIN press release dated March 17, 2026 lists the Guide’s France & Monaco selection at 668 starred establishments — broken down as 31 Three‑Star, 84 Two‑Star and 553 One‑Star restaurants. (michelin.com) Les Morainières sits in Jongieux, Savoie and was opened by Michaël and Ingrid Arnoult in 2005, with a guest house component that includes six bedrooms. (michelin.com) An MICHELIN inspector’s account highlights Les Morainières’ cuisine as rooted in the surrounding lakes-and-mountains landscape and praised the couple’s tight links to regional producers. (guide.michelin.com) The Four Seasons Hotel George V’s six Michelin stars come from three outlets — Le Cinq, L’Orangerie and Le George — and Le Cinq has held its three stars continuously since 2016 under chef Christian Le Squer. (webwire.com) Le Clarence’s upgrade arrives under Andrea Capasso, who has served as Executive Chef since September 2025 and secured the restaurant’s two‑star recognition within his first year at the helm. (le-clarence.paris) The 2026 ceremony took place at Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum, where Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene were reported to open the event, and local coverage named Jonathan Larrieu as the chef leading Robuchon Monaco while Marco Tognon was identified as head of the Les Ambassadeurs service team.
