Alvarez & Marsal expands financial crime practice
Alvarez & Marsal deepened its Financial Services portfolio with a new Financial Crime practice focused on regulatory frameworks and operational compliance.
This move allows A&M to better assist financial institutions facing increased regulatory scrutiny and the growing risks of fraud and financial crime, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. The new practice will advise on anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, and fraud risk management. Rod Francis will lead the APAC Financial Crime practice, bringing over 35 years of experience in compliance leadership roles and financial crime program management. He has worked with regulators to build compliance frameworks and manage enforcement actions. A&M's Financial Crime practice offers services such as financial crime advisory, remediation, and technology and transformation. They also provide expertise in investigations, risk assessment, and program design. The practice will work with A&M's other teams, including cyber risk and digital, to offer integrated solutions. David Hicks, Managing Director and Global Co-Leader of Disputes and Investigations at A&M, notes that financial institutions are facing more assertive supervision and growing exposure to financial crime. A&M's investment in this area demonstrates their commitment to providing practical advice to clients.
