Mandarin Oriental The Landmark in Hong Kong will reopen on June 1, 2026, after a renovation that remakes the hotel’s rooms, entrance and dining lineup. (press.mandarinoriental.com) The hotel sits inside the LANDMARK complex in Central, and Mandarin Oriental said the project adds a new entrance on Queen’s Road Central, refreshed rooms and suites, and expanded culinary and wellness offerings. (press.mandarinoriental.com) Hong Kong designer Joyce Wang led the redesign, and the hotel now lists 109 rooms and suites on its official site. Mandarin Oriental said the smallest L450 rooms start at 42 square metres, while the Entertainment Suite spans 167 square metres. (mandarinoriental.com, press.mandarinoriental.com) The reopening ties the hotel to LANDMARK’s wider “Tomorrow’s CENTRAL” overhaul. LANDMARK describes that project as a US$1 billion transformation of the Central district complex, with 10 luxury maison destinations, more than 200 retail experiences and Michelin-starred dining. (landmark.hk) Mandarin Oriental first said in June 2024 that the property, open since 2005, would join the LANDMARK redevelopment. At the time, the company said the reworked complex would give guests access to more than 100 food and drink venues alongside the retail expansion. (press.mandarinoriental.com) Food remains central to the hotel’s pitch. Mandarin Oriental says the seventh floor now holds eight Michelin stars across its dining venues, including Amber, SOMM, Sushi Shikon and Kappo Rin. (mandarinoriental.com) The design language leans on Hong Kong references rather than a generic luxury refresh. Mandarin Oriental said Wang used terracotta tones and deep greens inspired by historic homes including Yu Yuen and Tai Fu Tai, with commissioned artworks placed along a curved stone staircase leading to the lobby lounge. (press.mandarinoriental.com) The reopening also lands as Mandarin Oriental reports stronger business across its wider portfolio. The group said in March 2026 that revenue growth and market share gains in 2025 were driven by sustained demand across regions. (press.mandarinoriental.com) For Hong Kong’s luxury hotel market, June 1 is less a ribbon-cutting than a return date: a 21-year-old Central address reopening as part of a much larger rebuild around it.
