Royal Caribbean expands beaches

Royal Caribbean is expanding how cruise guests hit shore — new public beach access in Cozumel and plans for a free private beach club in the Southern Hemisphere are rolling out as the line widens its Asia‑Pacific network. ( ) The moves mark a shift toward more branded beach offerings for cruisers and could reshape shore‑side day plans in 2026. (alltoc.com)

Royal Caribbean’s Cozumel plan includes a dedicated public-access pathway through Zona Hotelera Sur with upgraded lighting, clearer signage and other infrastructure improvements to define the route from the main corridor to the shoreline. The company said the existing informal entry points will remain open during construction to avoid interrupting beach use, and Ari Adler Brotman, president of Royal Caribbean Mexico, invoked Mexican law when stressing the project’s commitment to safety and accessibility. Cozumel is a frequent port for Royal Caribbean vessels — Symphony of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas and Icon of the Seas are among ships the line noted as regular callers — underscoring why the operator is investing shore-side amenities in that corridor. Royal Beach Club Lelepa in Vanuatu will be Royal Caribbean’s first exclusive Southern Hemisphere destination, slated to open in October 2027 and to be featured on 2027–28 Australia season itineraries. Royal Caribbean says entry to Lelepa will be included in the cruise fare (no paid day pass required), with two beaches (an adults-only retreat and a family/activity beach), a nature trail, two eateries and 10 bars among the complimentary offerings. Guests will reach Lelepa by complimentary tender service and Royal Caribbean says it will install dedicated landing infrastructure for the operation; initial calls are planned from ships based in Sydney and Brisbane, including Anthem of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas. Separately, Royal Caribbean’s broader Asia‑Pacific schedule expands Spectrum of the Seas itineraries (two‑ to nine‑night voyages to Japan, South Korea and Vietnam) beginning in 2026 and adds an enlarged Hong Kong program starting November 2026, signaling the line’s simultaneous push into new shore‑side products and regional deployments.
