Cash Cobain Samples Three 6 Mafia

Cash Cobain released his first single of 2026 called "Wish," which samples Three 6 Mafia's "Late Night Tip." The track comes with a music video shot during a ski trip and will appear on his upcoming album "Party With Slizzy."

Cash Cobain is a key figure in the "sample drill" subgenre, a sound he pioneered that blends the aggressive bounce of drill music with smoother R&B and pop samples. This style, often called "sexy drill," has been instrumental in shaping a new wave of New York rap. His production is known for creatively flipping samples from a wide range of artists. On past projects, he has incorporated everything from 90s R&B group H-Town to Soulja Boy, often speeding up or chopping the original track to fit his signature sensual, upbeat sound. The original "Late Nite Tip" by Three 6 Mafia first appeared on their 1997 album *Chapter 2: World Domination*. The track is known for its dark, smooth, and melancholy feel, built around eerie synths and a deep, rolling bassline that set it apart from the group's more chaotic anthems. Cobain's upcoming album, "Party With Slizzy," is supported by his first-ever headlining tour, which kicks off in January 2026. The rapper has also hinted that a collaboration with Drake might appear on the new record. This new single continues a major run for the Bronx native, who in the last couple of years has produced for Drake and PinkPantheress, and collaborated with artists like Justin Bieber, Cardi B, and Don Toliver, securing a Billboard Hot 100 debut with the track "Attitude."
