Qatar loosens Feb–Apr bookings
Qatar Airways is offering two free date changes for bookings made Feb–Apr 2026 (valid until May 31) or refunds via Manage Booking — a flexibility boost for spring travel plans. The airline pushed the policy via its Manage Booking channel to help travelers adjust plans without fees. (x.com)
Qatar Airways published a March 15, 2026 press release saying scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended because Qatari airspace is closed, and that the carrier will operate a revised, limited number of flights from March 18 to March 28, 2026. The airline’s statement specifies the relief applies to passengers holding confirmed bookings with travel dates between February 28 and March 28, 2026. Qatar’s official guidance allows affected customers two complimentary date changes when rebooking on Qatar-operated flights, with new travel dates permitted up to April 30, 2026 (changes subject to availability and cabin). As an alternative to rebooking, the carrier is offering refunds of the unused ticket value and directing customers to manage changes or requests through its Manage Booking portal and mobile app. Several travel-industry sites later reported a broader waiver in circulation — noting bookings through April 30, 2026 and claiming rebooking options that extend new travel dates into May 31, 2026 — a variation not reflected in the airline’s March 15 release. Qatar’s release also warned passengers not to go to an airport unless they hold a valid confirmed ticket and advised travellers to keep contact details updated, while regional outlets reported the airline is experiencing very high call volumes for support.
