Spring glamping & events
Anastasia State Park in Florida launched new glamping options this spring while Nature Trails East held a free Spring Kickoff with birding and archery activities for families. Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine has started taking reservations for new glamping bungalows, while Quincy, Illinois, is promoting a free Spring Kickoff at Nature Trails East later this month. (floridastateparks.org) (actionnewsjax.com) (happeningnext.com) At Anastasia, the first three of six Beach Bungalows are open now, Action News Jax reported on April 12, and each sleeps up to six guests. The remaining three units, including one Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible bungalow, are expected in early summer 2026 and will sleep up to eight guests. (actionnewsjax.com) (anastasiastatepark.com) The park concessionaire’s booking page says the bungalows include air conditioning, heating, a microwave, a refrigerator, linens, a fire pit and outdoor seating, but no in-unit bathroom, shower or stove. Florida State Parks lists Anastasia as a 1,600-acre park with four miles of protected shoreline and 139 campsites. (anastasiastatepark.com) (floridastateparks.org) Florida State Parks describes glamping as “glamorous camping” offered through private partners at selected parks, aimed at visitors who want beds, power and climate control without bringing full camping gear. The state’s glamping guide lists a dozen participating parks, and Anastasia’s launch adds a high-traffic Atlantic Coast site to that network. (floridastateparks.org 1) (floridastateparks.org 2) Quincy’s Nature Trails East has been part of a separate spring push built around free outdoor programming. Event listings for April 25 say the Spring Kickoff will be held at 3420 Kochs Lane with free entry, community groups, bike demos, hiking access, vendors, music and food trucks. (happeningnext.com) (newsbreak.com) (quincyparkdistrict.com) Quincy Park District opened Nature Trails East with a public grand opening on April 26, 2025, inviting visitors to hike, bike, mushroom hunt and bird watch at the site near 36th Street and Kochs Lane. The district’s 2026 outdoor program guide also lists separate beginner archery sessions for ages 7 to 14 and free nature classes this spring. (quincyparkdistrict.com 1) (quincyparkdistrict.com 2) (quincyparkdistrict.com 3) At Anastasia, the new lodging sits alongside the park’s established draw: birding, paddling, beach access and camping near St. Augustine. The state park website lists a guided bird walk for April 22, 2026, part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. (floridastateparks.org) Both efforts package familiar park activities in easier formats: furnished overnight stays in Florida and low-cost day events in Illinois. In both places, the spring pitch is the same one parks make every year when weather turns: come outside now. (floridastateparks.org) (happeningnext.com)
