This collaboration marks Teyana Taylor's second project with Jordan Brand, following the 2023 release of her Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Air CMFT 2 "A Rose From Harlem". That initial partnership established the "Rose From Harlem" narrative, a theme that continues with this Air Jordan 3. The "Concrete Rose" theme is a powerful metaphor for resilience and overcoming adversity, symbolizing a rose growing through the pavement. The design of the Air Jordan 3 intentionally incorporates this narrative, as the AJ3 was the first model to feature the iconic "cement" or elephant print, directly tying into the "concrete" aspect of the shoe's story. Distinctive features of the sneaker include removable plastic rose thorns that can be wrapped around the shoe, offering a unique element of customization. The color palette is a detailed mix of Fir, Fire Red, Victory Green, Cement Grey, and Metallic Gold, applied to a premium black leather upper with the classic elephant print overlays. Teyana Taylor's history in sneaker design predates her work with Jordan, including a 2013 collaboration with Adidas on the Harlem GLC and a partnership with Reebok on the Question Mid. These earlier projects helped establish her as a creative force in the sneaker world long before her Jordan deal.
