Craft Contemporary is opening CLAY LA this weekend, turning its Miracle Mile museum into a ceramics market that also raises money for the institution. (craftcontemporary.org) The 2026 edition runs Friday, April 24, through Sunday, April 26, at 5814 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles, with a ticketed preview night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. (craftcontemporary.org) Saturday market hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with entry included in the museum’s $9 admission, and Sunday runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a pay-what-you-wish basis. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary calls this the ninth edition of CLAY LA, its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser, and says the event brings together emerging and established ceramic artists from across Los Angeles. (craftcontemporary.org) That format puts sales, artist access, and museum support in the same place: visitors can buy work directly from makers while the event benefits Craft Contemporary’s mission and programs. PBS SoCal listed it among its picks for the week of April 20–26. (pbssocal.org) The museum says hundreds of artists have participated over the years and thousands of visitors have supported local makers through its ceramics programming, workshops, sales, and exhibitions. It also links this year’s market to its upcoming fourth clay biennial, “tierra.” (craftcontemporary.org) This year’s vendor list includes more than two dozen names, among them Angel Prudencio, Chunmei Ceramics, FHAR Studio, Greg Lowe Arts, People’s Pottery Project, Tierra del Sol, and Yunting Ceramics. (craftcontemporary.org) The weekend also includes free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the market, with materials donated by Laguna Clay & Glaze Co. (craftcontemporary.org) Friday’s preview night costs $20 for the public and $15 for members, and the museum says ticket holders get first access to shop, complimentary refreshments, music, and one opportunity-drawing ticket on entry. (craftcontemporary.org) For a museum that is normally open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., CLAY LA turns a regular weekend into a concentrated showcase for Los Angeles ceramics — with the first crowds arriving Friday night.
